“All my paintings convey a moment of beauty. I paint what draws me in and nature is often my inspiration. I love to zoom in and capture the detail of fine lines, and the interplay between color and light.
Realism is my primary painting style. Sometimes I paint in a Cloisonnism style in which I use black lines to separate or highlight certain shapes in the painting. I enjoy the challenge of learning new techniques. I have used household items such as plastic wrap, sponges, combs and bubble wrap to create abstract paintings.
Life’s diverse roles—from parenting, to running a construction company, teaching yoga, and being a psychotherapist—all have an interwoven thread of creativity. Whether through painting, playing piano, or gardening, I find joy in the process of creating.”
– Stephanie Myers
A Springfield native, Stephanie Myers has drawn off and on since childhood. She found that colored pencil was a wonderful medium to portray both color and detail. In 2015, she took her first painting class at Springfield Art Association, and began painting in acrylics and then oil. Retiring in 2020 has allowed her to focus more on her art. She especially enjoys the challenge of exploring new techniques and continually evolving her work.
Stephanie is an avid gardener. Her art process is very similar to how she gardens, moving shapes, color, and texture into aesthetically pleasing compositions. Many of her paintings are taken from her garden or flowers that she sees on her morning walks.
