Discover the vibrant world of soft pastels in this hands-on Introduction to Pastel Painting workshop led by accomplished pastel artist Tracey Maras. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to explore a new medium, this class will introduce you to the fundamentals of pastel painting while giving you the tools and confidence to create your own artwork.

What to Expect: Learn about the properties of soft pastels and how they differ from other media. Explore application techniques, blending methods, and layering for depth and texture. Gain insight into how pastels can be used for everything from sketching to fully developed paintings. Create your own mini still-life painting under Tracey’s expert guidance.

Materials Provided: A 48-piece pastel set (yours to keep!) Pastel paper, backing boards, tape, tools, and easels Professional instruction from an experienced pastel artist

Participants should bring: Sketch paper, a pencil, and an eraser.
